I have, a great deal of thought. [And she's spoken to Clint about it as well.] I've yet to hear anything that might sway me against joining, but I have questions still. For instance can members step down at their discretion?

[He nods.]

Are there any rules or restrictions I should be aware of before joining?

You'll be expected, of course, to train physically if you've no real combat skills.

[There's just the slightest disgruntled expression that passes over his face at that; it's gone after a moment.]

You'll also be held to certain standards of conduct. If you abuse your position in any way you'll be removed from it.

[Wanda nods. That's something she expects of herself, regardless. His disgruntled expression makes her smile with just a tip of the corners of her lips, however. As a lawyer she doubts he very much likes the required training aspect of things.]

Neither of those will be a problem. I train daily already, and I've no intention of abusing whatever authority is given to me.

[Which is an opening she'll give him if he'd like to ask some questions of his own.]

[He nods and responds to her openness with a very open question of his own.]

What would you offer the team?

[She thinks more of him for asking the question as he does, allowing her to answer as she will.]

I've been trained in hand-to-hand combat and acrobatics, and have several years field experience working both as part of a team as well as on my own. Both in an offensive and defensive capacity.

[Wanda pauses to take a deep breath.]

My greatest asset however is the fact that I'm a mutant. Are you familiar with the term and what it generally entails?

[He tips his head very slightly to the side; his brows draw very faintly together. But it's from surprise, not confusion.]

I am. How does this mutation of yours manifest?

Quite simply I can alter probabilities in whatever favor I choose. It sounds like a small thing, but I assure you that I am capable of affecting things on a large scale.

[She holds up a hand and around her skin and above her palm, a growing light begins to spark and crackle.]

All it takes is channeling the correct equation of probability into a hex, and to direct that hex where I please.

[And he narrows his eyes at that. The sheer overwhelming strength of such an ability occurs to him immediately and powerfully; he's not suspicious, but merely thinking about all of the possibilities.]

I see. And can you do more than just create hexes?

[He seems to grasp the magnitude immediately, and Wanda lets the power die down. The bright sparks disappear.]

I've found them to be quite versatile, but I did inherit a measure of magic from my mother. Between the two, as similar as they are, I can achieve a great deal. Is there something in particular you would want to accomplish?

[For just a moment, there's a small, grim smile.]

I already know the answer to the first question I would ask. You can't use it to get us home.

[Ah. Wanda mirrors that smile back to him.]

It was my first thought when I arrived. However I believe that does bring up my one limitation. There was an occasion once with my team, in which we were in another dimension and...meddling with such things went awry. It took the combined efforts of myself and two others of similar power to put things aright once more.

You can be sure that given the safe opportunity I'll do what I can to return those who wish to go home, but the risks are too great at the moment to meddle without a great deal more information.

[The smile is gone as quickly as it came; he crosses his arms, perfectly serious now.]

Doppelgangers of those native to that particular dimension were pulled from an alternate reality to join us. It was chaotic and devolved quickly, to say the least.

[Wanda's tone is serious, but her expression thoughtful.]

Of course, the situation stemmed from going against someone with the same amount of similar power that I possess, and there may have been outside meddling to further complicate things. Two factors I don't expect to deal with here.

Hmph. So "alternate dimensions" is something with which you were familiar prior to arriving here?

Briefly, yes, though my experience with the matter is minimal and unlikely to be of much use here. The situation was different in many ways.

However considering my other skills I'm certain you won't find me wanting for anything.

[She quirks an eyebrow up. That awful situation with Reed Richards and Nick Fury had taken up a day, perhaps two of her life. Her years of experience in the Brotherhood and Ultimates would be of far more use to SEC.]

[He frowns, but - ]

[There's just a bit of a smile on her face now. Really, she'd been training since before her ability manifested itself, and after over a decade's worth of field experience she had no problems proving herself.]

[He frowns in return.]

Yes, unless you'd prefer to stick to words instead.

[Her smile deepens.]

[He hesitates a long moment. The fact is that he still isn't any good at fighting, though he's been training for a while now; Tyke still manages to drag him up and down the holodeck, and he hardly even lands a hit on her. And yet - he does have these powers...

Decisively, he powers down his device.]

Very well. Not in here, though.

[Wanda honestly expects him to back down from the challenge. He's a lawyer, and there's nothing about him that makes her think "fighter" after all...But that he accepts pleases her, and she nods.]

If you plan on seeing how well I can handle myself, are there others that should be invited to witness or participate?

Just myself for now.

[Mostly because if he ends up making a fool of himself, he wants as few witnesses as possible.]

Tyke will be the ultimate barrier to surmount; she is the final judge of who is admitted onto the team and who is not.
